When I did this restore, I had no idea what this subject had looked like at the time the photo was taken. Based on the hair styles for that time I came up with this image. The owner of that photo was very pleased. He told me "She looks exactly as she did when the picture was taken."

City of Scottsdale Awards

One of our first big contracts was to design and make all of the awards for the City of Scottsdale Arizona Police Department. This is one of the plaques we made. The photo doesn't do it justice. The badges on the plaque reflect the different generations of their badges from when it was a town Marshall's office through the existing police department. There was a lot of sentimental value with these awards.

We solved that problem by purchasing a business then upgrading to top of the line equipment. Each item is produced individually. The ink for the images is baked into the material not stuck on so it won't peel off. Photo Restorations

The gentleman who owned this portrait explained that the picture was a cherished photo of his aunt who was very ill. He wanted to do something special for his mother and have it restored but was not having any luck finding someone to do it. The original was small (about 2 X 3) and badly damaged. There were thousands of cracks in the face alone, a corner had been torn off and there were creases from carrying it in wallets for many years.
To this point I had only done restorations for myself but I offered to look around and find someone to do it. After extensive searching (even on the web) I couldn't find anyone who would touch it even close to within his budget or guarantee the work due to the condition of the photo.
He was a good guy with a big heart and good intentions. I wanted to help him out so I took on the project. After a lot more hours then I even want to mention; this was the finished product.
The customer came to pick it up, his eyes welled up with tears and he ordered three 11X 14's . To feel his appreciation and observe his reaction was priceless. It was at that moment that I was indoctrinated into the restoration business. I have since done hundreds of restorations, many with similar reactions but you know what they say... "You always remember your first."
